- A fatal car crash after a police pursuit in Clearcreek Township is raising the debate about the use of “stop sticks”, devices that can be quickly deployed to puncture the tires of a car. A speeding car was clocked at 84 miles per hour, initiating a pursuit that reportedly reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour, but which abruptly ended when the driver, having passed over the stop sticks, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the median.
